The First Annual Sarasota Walk for Wishes will be held in downtown Sarasota at Payne Park on Saturday morning, January 17th, 2009.
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Teams will compete to see who can raise the most money to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Participants will enjoy complimentary food and beverages, prizes, and much more!

The Make-A-Wish Foundation ® of Central and Northern Florida grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Since 1986, the Foundation has made wishes come true for over 3000 special children across Central and Northern Florida. These children and their families are dealing with doctors, hospitals, and an overwhelming uncertainty about what tomorrow will bring.

Children like 4-year old Kristina. Kristina, who was born with a rare type of brain malformation, was able to make her dream trip to Disney World along with her twin brother and two older sisters, as well as her parents. Kristina had a fun-filled week-long trip to all the Disney parks. No doctors or treatments to worry about during this time, just fun, laughter, and many magical moments!
