Event Description

The Museum of Botany and the Arts will be adorned with the work of many talented photographers across the country. Their photographs celebrate the beauty residing at Selby Gardens as well as plant life, wildlife, and scenes captured from around the globe.

Many of the photographs will be for sale. Some photos entered in the Selby Gardens category may also be selected for use in the 2012 Selby Gardens Calendar.

Cash prizes totali...ng $1,650 will be given to Best of Show as well as first, second and third place for each of six categories: Selby Gardens, Plant Life, Scenic, Animal Life, Black & White, and Manipulated Imaging.

Photographers may download an entry form from our website at www.selby.org. Go to “Events”, then “Exhibits” and “Juried Photographic Exhibition”.

Deadline for receipt of entries for hand-delivered photographs is Wednesday, April 20 from Noon to 6:00 p.m. in the Museum of Botany and the Arts at Selby Gardens on South Palm Avenue. Mailed entries must be received by April 14. All accepted entries and prize winners will be posted on our website www.selby.org by April 26, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.

The Opening Reception with Awards Presentation is scheduled for Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Museum of Botany and the Arts. Please R.S.V.P. to 941-366-5731, Ext. 239.
