Acrylic Resist Painting Demonstration at Art Uptown April 15

Art Uptown, Sarasota’s oldest cooperative fine art gallery, presents a demonstration of acrylic resist techniques by Sarasota artist Cecile Moran on Friday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to the program. There is no charge. The gallery is located at 1367 Main St.

Cecile’s paintings are created by a process using layering and resistance techniques. Paint is applied and removed in areas to reveal new and different color relationships, she explained. Her images embody a sense of energy displayed through the interaction of brilliant colors, she noted.

Cecile exhibits her art at Art Uptown along with the gallery’s 27 other member artists. Attendees at her demonstration will have an opportunity to view all of the exhibits.
