BRENDA ALCORN Named November Featured Artist at Island Gallery West - Reception on 11/11/11

This November Island Gallery West will feature BRENDA ALCORN's mixed-media paintings in an exhibit entitled "Kaleidoscope: The movement from nature to art through photography and painting." On Friday, Nov. 11 in conjunction with artsHOP, the gallery will host a public reception from 5:00-9:00 PM. The public is invited to enjoy fine art, free refreshments and to meet some of the gallery's 28 member artists at Island Gallery West, 5368 Gulf Dr. in the S&S Shopping Plaza, Holmes Beach.

Ms. Alcorn is a mixed-media artist working in collage, experimental watercolor, gyotaku, printmaking and photography. She came to art after a 30-year career in education teaching English at Manatee High School. Her artwork is infused with color and creativity.
