Earth Day…the land. I love tasting “terroir” in wine, whether wet stone, minerality, fennel, mushroom or forest floor. It’s recognizing Pinot Noir from Burgundy, for example; It’s the grape grown in its ideal plot of dirt. Many other factors determine the outcome as well, such as climate and altitude of the vineyards and of course each vintage year is affected by that year’s weather. But ultimately all wine lovers have Mother Earth to thank for the variety of tastes and flavors (ok with a little guidance from vineyard manager and winemaker). So raise a glass (or three) on this Earth Day, April 22. To celebrate, Fleming's is offering a flight of three “green” wines—biodynamic, sustainable and organic—for a “dirt cheap” price of just $9.
