“Florida Soliloquy” Exhibit by Cecile Moran at Art Uptown

Art Uptown, Sarasota's oldest artist-owned fine art gallery, presents “Florida Soliloquy”, a one-person show of paintings by Sarasota artist and art educator Cecile Moran.  The exhibition is scheduled from Feb. 25 to March 30, with an opening reception on Friday, March 2, 6-9 pm at the gallery at 3167 Main St., Sarasota.

A prolific painter, Cecile’s paintings embody a sense of energy displayed through the interaction of brilliant colors.  The images are created by layering and resistance techniques.  Paint is applied and removed in selected areas to reveal new and different color relationships.

Cecile is a long-time member of Art Uptown and a past-president of the gallery. She has brought art education to all age levels from Kindergarten to College.  In Sarasota, she has conducted art and educational programs for at-risk youth. She currently gives painting workshops and demonstrations in Tampa and Sarasota.
