Hermitage Artist Retreat and New College Present Composer Missy Mazzoli

The Hermitage Artist Retreat and New College are co-sponsoring a community conversation with composer Missy Mazzoli. Mazzoli, who has been called “one of the more consistently inventive, surprising composers now working in New York” (New York Times), is an artist-in-residence at The Hermitage on Manasota Key. Mazzoli will talk about her music and also perform her composition, Orizzonte for piano and electronics.  She will play recordings of Victoire, her orchestra piece, and excerpts from Song From the Uproar, the opera she has been working at while at the Hermitage.  She will be introduced by New College Professor of Music Stephen Miles, who will moderate the dialogue with one of America's most exciting young composers.
