“LA VIE EN ROUGE” with LOUISE PITRE
Saturday, March 7 at 8:00PM
Tickets: $27.50/$22.50 GPAC Family
Experience the romance of a Parisian café through the heart and soul of a treasured Broadway leading
lady. In a career that spans theatre, television and concert stages across North America and Europe, Canada’s
first lady of musical theatre, Louise Pitre, may well be best known for her Tony-nominated performance in
Mamma Mia! on Broadway. Yet, it was her award winning portrayal of legendary French singer Edith Piaf that
first catapulted her to national fame in 1992.
Pitre is dazzling audiences again performing selections from the world’s favorite French composers and
the hit shows that earned her accolades, including Piaf, Les Miserables, and Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And
Living In Paris. We invite you to Paris ... for an evening at the GPAC. This enchanting new concert is sung in both
French and English.
Louise is the winner of a National Broadway Touring Award, a New York Theatre World Award, a San
Francisco Theatre Critics’ Award, a Betsy Mitchell Award and four Dora Mavor Moore awards, all for best
performance by a leading actress in a musical.
She has released a new all French CD, La Vie en Rouge, in addition to three solo CD’s: Shattered, All of
My Life Has Led To This and Songs My Mother Taught Me. She is heard as Fantine in the Paris Cast recording of
Les Misérables and as Ulrika in the Kristina cast recording.
“Louise Pitre is sensational ... She just doesn’t just sell a song, she lives it.”
