New College Alumna Miriam Raziel and Aaron Shneyer in Concert at New College

Miriam Raziel and Aaron Shneyer will be performing a dynamic mix of Hebrew, reggae and spiritual acoustic music at New College on November 12 at 7 pm at the Mildred Sainer Pavilion, 5313 Bay Shore Road. Raziel (née Schwartz) graduated from New College in 2007 with a degree in Anthropology/Religion and has been singing soulful spiritual music for four years. She has performed in Israel, New York and St. Louis as well as with the band Kirtan Rabbi in New York and California. Raziel will be accompanied by Shneyer, a guitarist, songwriter and well-known peacemaker. Guest performers include New College student Michael Waas on clarinet and saxophone and Babak Kanani on percussion. Raziel, who writes most of her own music, plans to release a CD in the upcoming months.

The concert is sponsored by New College Hillel and the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee. The event is free for students and tickets are $10 at the door for non-students. For further information, call the New College Events Hotline at 487-4888.
