A staple of Provencal summers and go-to sipper for NYC oenophiles, dry roses are delicately aromatic, refreshing and bright--a far cry from the White Zinfandels of yore. The annual release of the newest vintage signals the start of the summer season. Due to their delicate flavor profiles, bright acidity and fruit-driven aromatics, roses are a natural wine pairing for the season's lighter fare. Dry roses typically average from ten to twenty dollars, making these summer sippers an affordable wine alternative for the year's hottest months.
