Event Description

It's time for the fifth annual celebration of Sarasota's historic Rosemary District with Rosemary Rising V Holiday Walk, a festive, intimate holiday walk throughout the neighborhood. Rosemary's fabulous boutiques, salons, restaurants and other exciting area businesses look forward to inviting you into their stores for open houses and demos including a fashion show, glamour photo shoot, crafts and activities for children and the Sarasota Pedicab Co. ferrying you between destinations on Central Avenue, Lemon Avenue, and Orange Avenue.

Rosemary Rising V Holiday Walk is also pleased to announce a live music line-up this year featuring Passerine, Youth, Villanova Junction, The Equines and Big Blu House performing throughout the night. The Storytellers will be rocking the north end of Central Avenue at Home Resource. Be sure you don't miss the official Rosemary Rising V afterparty at The HuB, 1421 Boulevard of the Arts (and don't wear green!).

With continued commercial development, the Rosemary District has become one of Sarasota's fastest rising neighborhoods, with such popular destinations as Sarasota Olive Oil Co., Everything but the Girl Boutique & Gallery, Pure Luxe, Lourdes' Nail and Hair Studio, the little salon and Derek’s Casual Culinary, among others. The recently opened Shoppes at Citrus Square, Divinia Jeanne's Chocolate Heaven, Butterfly Effect, and Michael's Urban Salon on Orange Ave. are the newest additions to the Rosemary family.

Located just north of Fruitville Rd. and just east of U.S. 41, the Rosemary District is also home to Sarasota’s first-ever public cemetery, and is nationally recognized as home to Overtown, Sarasota’s first documented black community. Today, the Rosemary District is a unique mix of renovated historic buildings, new construction, and eclectic businesses ranging from boutiques, to eateries, to wellness and holistic centers and businesses, as well as social service agencies. Rosemary Rising is both a tribute to the neighborhood’s past, and a showcase of its eclectic future. Rosemary Rising V Holiday Walk is proudly sponsored by the Sarasota School of Arts and Sciences and Creative Loafing Sarasota. Connect on facebook! www.facebook.com/rosemaryrising
