The Glenridge Performing Arts Center Presents Sarasota Young Voices

The Glenridge Performing Arts Center is proud to present, Sarasota Young Voices, at the GPAC (7333 Scotland Way, Sarasota), produced by GPAC, for one performance only - Sunday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m.      

Sarasota Young Voices is a community choir for children ages 5-18, led by Geneviève Beauchamp. Since its inception, SYV has concentrated on providing an enriching musical experience by exposing young singers to a wide variety of repertoire. The group now boasts more than 70 members from both Sarasota and Manatee counties. They have appeared in many local venues as well as performed at Disney, throughout the Southeast and even internationally. SYV performs yearly at the Sarasota Choral Society’s Messiah concert. The children have performed recently in Orff’s Carmina Burana and Mahler’s Symphony no. 3 along with Key Chorale and Sarasota Orchestra.

SYV are more than singers making music once a week; from the beginning, there has been a deep friendship amongst the singers. The children work in a respectful environment and always look to be musically challenged. Many members are also active in the Sarasota Youth Orchestra program or receive private instruction on a different instrument. The program is offered at very low cost for singers, and includes a one-week summer camp, weekly rehearsals from August to May, as well as a winter retreat.
