*Maximum area for makeover is 1200 sq. ft. (You can still enter if your yard is larger or smaller but the max area to be made over is 1200sf)

*You must send a photo (Size of photo should be 500 pixels wide or less) & 100 words or less of why you want this makeover. (entries will be judged on originality & humor).

*Backyard Getaway & WQ magazine can not be held responsible for any companies or items that may back out of contest

2 years ago after a loss of employment, then a foreclosure, things were tough. She provided a much needed fresh start. We love it here. She has been so kind. My computer displayed WQ's Ultimate Backyard Makeover. Excitement prevailed; my wife and I require powerchairs. We need less grass, Florida native, low-maintenance plantings with the relaxing pond and amenities generously offered. Replacing our rotting, wooden decking and warped powerchair ramps with the paver patio.....PRICELESS! Please help us relax and enjoy our backyard again, so our computer has more free time. We're TOTALLY on board for a "greener" backyard.

Our granddaughter and her Army sweetheart will marry in our backyard; we hope to provide the beautiful setting with the generous help of Extreme Backyard Makeover.

We need help-We have spent oodles trying to get rid of the curse "WEEDS" and "fire ants" to no avail, nothing is working. They are invading us and may soon grow inside if not stopped. The Patio, which we inherited was not done properly, instead of draining water it just wants to hold on to it so it can bring more curse in the form of mold and yuck. We even had "tadpoles " (I guess that's what they were), swimming in the water. HELP!!! My husband is not very handy and is getting too old to do the work, even though he tried and tried and we both have exhausted ourselves trying, we are at the mercy of experts, but don't have the money so mercy is calling.

1966 Siesta Key home, an acre, open canvas, overgrown jungle, dilapidated fences, dead vegetation. Right after buying the home, Tropical Storm Josephine crashed on to the island, the gulf met the bay in my yard, fish swimming up to back doors, salt water killed 30 years of foliage, many told me to give it time and the vegetation would return, it never did, brown palm fronds, dead sod, dried out vegetable gardens, upturned walkways from settling, no irrigation. Financially: single mother of 3, unemployed. The backyard is an extension of the home to enjoy private time, peace, family and friends.
