Welcome to our Garden of Weedin’! This backyard needs an expert to bring it to it’s full potential. I don’t want to be labeled “The Terminator”, but many of my plants are on death row because I’ve made the wrong choices for our southern exposure and using Weed n Feed on the lawn might leave nothing but sand!
We built our house 20 years ago intending to add a pool; unfortunately other expenses like putting two sons through college took priority; we’re hoping you’ll vote to give us this makeover to finally have a backyard we are not ashamed of.

My husband & I just bought our first home. I'm 52 yrs old & never owned. The house is a "dream come true" & we absolutely love it! It came with no appliances, which we had to purchase & several major repairs have come up. We rented the same place for 12 yrs & had a wonderful Tiki Hut & a 2500 gallon Koi pond. Our intentions were to focus on our new pond but the repairs have depleted cash flow. Therefore, the pond has been put on hold. We spend most of our time outside after work & truly miss our Koi pond.

"And you thought your trash was sacred!" One mans trash is another mans treasure, right? So my mom's husband thinks! It's got to be good for something! He'll fix it up, like brand new. Maybe, just maybe one of these days, weeks, months or years... In the mean time, my mom surely cannot go out and enjoy her pool/backyard. And forget about having a family party! She tries to clean it, or hire people to help her-but she can only do so much. BEFORE IT RETURNS!!! Is there therapy included in the makeover? Because he may need help!
Ahhh. The Florida life. Baby blue skies, a green, insect free lawn, multi-colored tropical plants, the sound of a trickling waterfall in the background, and a large hammock gently swinging in the breeze under the shade of palm trees. Wait! That’s my neighbors’ yard. I abruptly wake up; covered in dirt and dog drool, after tripping in a hole I thought I just buried poop in. Maybe I slipped on the wet leaves used as a disguise to cover the fact that we have no grass. Help! My yard needs a makeover.

The listing enticed: "Hansel and Gretel path to charming guest house". Shadows danced seductively from oak canopies. "I must have this house. I won't look at any others!" I was shushed by my Realtor, but too little, too late. It was love at first sight... SUCKER!

Single female with intensive travel schedule harbors delusions of green-thumb grandeur, tendency to wander thru back yard with drink in-hand, overwhelmed and shaking head. Seeks rescue by team of daring professionals to produce desperately needed backyard getaway. No guarantee that "guest house" (aka Airstream) does not contain raccoon family or stray Ringling art students…

My yard must be Movie because one week it is an Old Western "ALL ROUND-UP" other weeks its a secret mission guessing game like 18-24-6 or 29-0-5. I'm not sure if I am a homeowner or a chemist. Even though it large and green getting a handle on it has been rough in the 3 1/2 years of ownership. Prior owner felt the need to just plant..plant..plant, now all I do is weed..weed..weed. I was recently told I may need to schedule a double knee replacement and that makes me DESPERATE for help. Please rescue me before I see the signs of the next showing of "Jungle Book".

RESA: That’s gross! BACKYARD isn’t for him tho’. It’s for playing, family cook-outs and US. . . We have a pretty cool house, except for. . .
BOTH: THAT "BACKYARD"!
RESA: Built in 1925 in Gillespie Park. Has lots of history.
GEORGE: Yeah, a "SAND-LOT" of history! HA! Get it??
RESA: Feel sorry for the old guy. Won't have anyone over because of our "BACKYARD"! We really want to give him something, but we're just dogs.
GEORGE: But smart dogs! So we signed him up for this BACKYARD MAKEOVER CONTEST, yah see! Shhh, he doesnt know it. . .We wanna surprise him...so we're "begging" you to PLEASE "fetch" us a real BACKYARD.

Our backyard has an old garage built about the same time as our home, 1924. Well-used by husband and son for fix-it projects, bike and lawnmower tinkering, etc., there’s a wide expanse of yard space begging for refurbishment. Daughter (20) would die for space where she and her friends could hang out and solve the world’s problems. Son (14) relishes the thought of a place to congregate with his buddies and newly discovered girlfriends to talk about how their parents know nothing. Husband and I long for a backyard retreat to spend alone time, couple time, and time entertaining friends.

On behalf of my 5 "four legged babies", I've been asked to enter your backyard makeover contest! Until last week, I had six, but I lost my Rocky to a sudden illness. Three of my six are rescue dogs!

I would love to provide for them a "Doggie Paradise"... Florida Style. I envision a mini "Water Park' for dogs. They could invite their canine as well as their toddler friends over for a romp in the pond, while mom and dad sit on the edge dangling their toes in the water.

We have a fenced "dog area", that the dogs don't like very much. They complain constantly that the grass is too high or y'know....WET! I think a yard with rounded pebbles (paw pads are delicate)or recycled rubber pellets instead of grass would provide a safe low maintenance solution to grass and bugs. An awesome awning over a platform or "deck" would provide a place to sprawl out, belly up after frolicking in the water, without worrying about getting too much sun.
We all sleep every night to the sound of an "electronic waterfall" on the night stand next to "our bed". How awesome would it be to open the sliding doors to the master bedroom on our cool Florida winter nights and listen to our very own REAL waterfall right outside our door!
I often say our dogs do not live in OUR HOUSE, but rather we live in their DOG HOUSE! They rightly feel that it is only fitting to extend their domain to the backyard where they can escape from the mundane daily duties of being ON GUARD! They do take turns, and have assigned shifts, but now that Rocky is no longer with us....they've had to double up on the time they have to "work". This backyard makeover would be greatly appreciated as a place to relax after a long day of duty! Did I mention they also are canine crooners? If you could hear them now, they are singing at the top of their lungs to PLEASE VOTE FOR US! I thank you and so do Odie, Baby Girl, Fluffy, Wookie and Princess Zelda.

PS: Attached is a Picture of all six of us playing in a pool tournament. It sure is a dogs life!

We are worried our nice neighbors with their beautifully maintained yards might be getting frustrated with our landscaping skills:( PLEASE HELP!!!!
