If you could only do one thing it would be so easy. It would be so easy to know what to do, which direction to go. But there are so many choices and so many of the choices are good…or so it seems initially. And actually there is very little inherently bad in the choices. However I have learned that, just because I can…doesn’t mean I should.
In fact just recently I was presented with an awesome looking project: something that could prove to be very fruitful, something that I could enjoy, something I have wanted to do for a while, only to discover that just because I could do this now did not mean that it WAS the right thing to do now.
The economy is not exactly optimal at the moment. It may take some creativity and may take some extra work, to make it all work. Sometimes as we work at making things work we get caught up in the doing trap of “Next”. Then whatever comes along next is what we do. And pretty soon you look up from doing to say, “How in the world did I get here?”
I will admit sometimes you do have to do whatever it takes, however the more you can stay it that place where you create the most value…the better. But to stay in your YES, you may have to learn to say NO.
