PRODUCT REVIEW: Julie Hewett Ora Mineral Powder -- A New Love!

When I love something, I’m typically faithful in my devotion. But with things as with people, sometimes you think you have loved until something so much better comes along that you realize it wasn’t true love in the first place. That’s what happened when I tried Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder. When it comes to foundation, my allegiance used to be to Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Foundation, but now I’ve found a new love! I will be forever grateful for being introduced to Ora Mineral Powder by way of being asked to review it. If anyone tells you that all mineral powders are alike, don’t believe it. Just looking at Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder, you can see the difference. Ora is smooth, velvety and light—no chalkiness here. As soon as the powder touched the brush, I knew it was going to feel different on my face. Sure enough, it was like silk gliding on my skin. With the natural, flawless look it provided, it was love at first sight.

My infatuation with mineral foundations has always been due to the smooth, natural look it creates as opposed to thick and cakey liquid foundations. With mineral foundation, I feel like I’m accenting the look of my face without putting on a face that doesn’t even look like my own. Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder is good for the health of skin, too with natural pigments of micronized titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxide, freeze-dried vitamins A, E and D, and plant extracts such as lavender, ylang-ylang, rosemary, cedarwood, sage, green tea and sandalwood. Because the product is free of harmful chemicals, talc and dyes, skin is allowed to breathe. Natural sun protection is another bonus.

There are days when I grab my now forgotten bareMinerals from the drawer by mistake, but I immediately notice the difference and return for Julie Hewett’s Ora Mineral Powder. Once you’ve found true love, former loves never feel the same again.

Thanks, Debbie. To my knowledge, there is no place locally which sells Ora Mineral Powder. You can order it online at www.juliehewett.net. Simply Spoiled carries some of the Julie Hewett line, which I also love -- more reviews to come.

Okay Amy,
I'm intrigued, where do you get to try this mineral powder? Thanks, fun article and approach.
