A. Parker's Books and Book Bazaar is offering the following to celebrate this historic day:

John Marshall.  LIFE OF GEORGE WASHINGTON...Commander in Chief of the American Armed Forces, During the War Which Established the Independence of His Country, and First President of the United States.  To which is Prefixed, An Introduction, Containing a Compendious View of the Colonies. [with:] The Life of Washington.  Philadelphia: C. P. Wayne, 1804, 1804, 1804, 1805, 1807.  6 vols.  First edition, first issue of the text volumes, with octavo Atlas issued from the 2 volume, abridged, 1832 edition.  Octavo Atlas volume consists of an engraved title page and ten (10) double page maps (most either bordered in color or offering colored water features).  [22] 188 [45]; [8] 560 [72]; [8] 580 [28]; [8] 626 [1] 16; [7] 779 [36] pp.  Hardcover.  8vo size.  All text volumes bound in original full calf; the Atlas volume is cloth backed paper covered boards, with a paper title label on the front board.  Contrasting leather labels to text volumes.  Most text volumes show some loss to head or heel of spine; some scattered foxing, browning and offsetting; frontisportrait is browned and bears a large stain, title page mirrors the same stain.  Overall, a very good, completely unsophisticated set of this classic and rare work.  Very good/No jacket issued.  Serious inquiries at 1488 Main Street, downtown Sarasota.
