The Center For Musical Theatre at Julie Rohr Academy will present Meredith Wilson’s fabulous hit The Music Man for one
show only on Friday, May 21st, at 7:00 PM at the Sarasota Opera House.
This year’s show is truly a community project as it involves not only
Julie Rohr Academy students, parents, and staff, but also community
members as the humorous citizens of River City, Iowa in the year 1912.

The show features wonderful music, lively dance routines, period costumes, and talented performers. In addition, beautiful show drops
are being flown in from California. Professional lighting and sound add
the finishing touches to an already brilliant Broadway Musical.
Because the show ends with a performance by a boy’s band, young male
students at JRA are being taught to play a variety of band instruments
by the members of the Sarasota Military Academy band. It has been a
rewarding experience for both groups, and has further added to the
spirit of community inherent in this production.
