New Summer Menu at Lee Roy Selmon's

These are a few of my favorite things about the New Summer Menu at Lee Roy Selmon’s:

Rock Shrimp! I love the texture of these plump, bite-sized shrimp and the fact that at Selmon’s I can have a pile of them lightly fried and served with an honest-to-goodness homemade spicy cocktail sauce.

Strawberry Mojito!! Cool and refreshing with fresh muddled mint and strawberries – I can’t think of a better way to quench my thirst after a long, hot day.

Asian Chicken Salad! This is one of my favorite salads and when I lived in California it was easy to find. So far, this is the best one that I’ve managed to track down in Sarasota: crunchy, tangy, fresh, with chunks of tender chicken all tossed in a dreamy Asian dressing.

Cedar Plank Salmon & CORN ON THE COB!!! I’d like to go on record and name this the best corn on the cob that I have ever had. It’s huge and there is no dainty way to eat it but that’s part of it’s charm. The corn is sweet as it should be but the cotija cheese and the background note of heat provided by the Chipotle make this perfectly grilled side sing.

Miniature Desserts! I sampled all three of the mini (but still shareable) desserts and they’re all delicious: Selmon’s Bread Pudding is authentic, the Georgia Peach Cobbler is aromatic, and the Crunch Time Sundae is nostalgic.
