RELATIONSHIP TIP OF THE WEEK: Don’t Denounce Valentine’s Day

More and more frequently, I hear other people denounce Valentine’s Day as just another commercial holiday. But what’s so wrong with marking a day to express love? It’s a sad, but true fact that most people need the reminder. And do you really want to be one of the few people not being showered with love on a day when almost everyone is? So go ahead, join the effort. Think of special ways to show your love that don’t ordinarily come to mind. Don’t just sign a card. Use your own words to write from the heart. From beginning to end, mark the day with loving gestures. There is nothing wrong with giving your relationship a boost that will linger in the days that follow.

Even if you’re single, show self-love by marking the often dreaded day as a day to pamper yourself. And don’t forget to acknowledge your love for family and friends. Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be just for lovers.
