Travel to Belgium by Way of Downtown Sarasota!

When walking down Main Street in Sarasota, it’s hard not to notice the lively atmosphere and people walking about.  It’s truly the epitome of a thriving downtown with eclectic and varied restaurants and cafés at every turn of the head.  The seasons are turning, and everyone is taking notice.  Nothing is better than a lunch in the sun with a cool breeze to keep the average Floridian comfortable.  Many dining spots on Main have opened their doors and put up their umbrellas inviting eager foodies to join them in embracing the very European open air café!  Brasserie Belge is a trip to Europe for the taste buds boasting an atmosphere that exudes quality and refinement without a huge price tag.  To say that their food is delicious is truly a disservice; Brasserie Belge’s food is quite possibly amazing and approachable authentic Belgian cuisine.  The menu is inviting and the décor is a feast for the eyes.  It’s a truly rich experience and break from the norm without being over the top.  Never having tasted Belgian food prior to my first visit, I was some what apprehensive due to my belief that the dishes would be heavy handed in every sense of the word.  I couldn’t have been more wrong.  From the Croquettes to the Mussels to the Vegetable Melange, everything embodied such finesse and attention to detail.  Service was dead on and their wine and Belgian beer pairing was nothing less than genius.  Brasserie Belge has made a home in Sarasota, and we couldn’t be more lucky.  Be sure to check out Brasserie Belge's website: Brasserie Belge Homepage
