Weekly Marketing Tip: Stay Focused find a Niche

For the past decade more and more people have been either employing themselves or starting small businesses with a small number of employees.

I keep meeting people that say they do everything or this that and the other thing almost all all unrelated. That is the opposite of a niche. So what do you do if you want to do it all? As an example we'll use someone who
  • Option 1: Create separate businesses for each niche (dog sitting, home watch, and taxi service for example)
  • Option 2: Change your business description or model to one that fits, an example of this is a concierge service. That way your niche is "problem solver" and it makes total sense and people can remember why to call you. This makes the unrelated items seem related so you can market yourself more effectively.
    • BUT THERE's CATCH, you still need a niche. In other words even if you do "DO Everything" you need to find out what kind of people hire people like you. Busy people who have plenty of money is a good example. Think about the demographics of that group of people. What kinds of jobs they have, where they live etc.
Have a great week! Greet everyone with a smile and see what happens
