To Energize Your Marriage
Could your marriage use some excitement? Even a good marriage can benefit from a little extra imagination and creativity to bring the two of you closer together. Spending time together engaging in mutual interests is one of the most effective ways of bonding with your mate. Here are some fun ways to add life and energy to your marriage:
Take a class together
Maybe you met your spouse at school but it may have been awhile since you’ve been in the classroom together. If you have a local community college or university nearby, pick up a copy of their catalog and select an interesting course of mutual interest to take together. If you don’t want to compete for a grade, audit the course instead. If a college level course doesn’t appeal to you, why not take a cooking class at a local chef school instead? Check with your local parks and recreation department and see what other interesting classes might be available to the two of you could take part in.
Learn a new sport together
Find a sport you can learn together whether it be scuba diving, fencing, mountain climbing, or bungee jumping. If you want something a little tamer, why not sign up for a class in golf, tennis, yoga, or a ballroom dance class? Not only will you be spending time together, you’ll also be building the foundation for a sporting activity you can share for a lifetime.
Start a fitness program together
Make a commitment to exercise together whether it be in the form of walking, running, weight lifting, or yoga. This will not only strengthen and energize your marriage, it’ll also relieve stress and heighten your individual energy levels.
Play a game together
Is there a board game the two of you could enjoy together? Whether it be chess or Chinese checkers, playing a game you mutually enjoy can bring the two of you closer together. Bring out the popcorn and soda pop and make an evening of it. Leave the television and computer off for a change. If you want to play a game with a little more physical activity, how about a game of ping pong, an evening at the bowling alley, or a trip to the miniature golf course?
Go to an amusement park
A visit to your local amusement park is a great way to bond with your mate while bringing out the inner child in each of you. Grab some cotton candy from the concession stand and head for the roller coaster. If the roller coaster’s too intimidating there’s always the bumpers cars and merry-go-round. Don’t forget about the game arcade where you can play games to your heart’s content and maybe win a prize or two.
Share the outdoors
Spend some time together in the great outdoors by taking a nature hike, riding bikes, or flying a kite. Try an outdoor activity you’ve never done before. Bring along a tasty picnic lunch to share under a big shade tree at the end of your bike ride. You’ll return energized, but relaxed from your brief excursion.
By sharing some mutual activities you both enjoy on a regular basis, you’ll rediscover the joys of being a couple while building a strong relationship that’ll last for a lifetime.
