Holiday Variations

The Glenridge Performing Arts Center (7333 Scotland Way,
Sarasota) is proud to present Holiday Variations, featuring students from the Sarasota Ballet, co-
produced by the Sarasota Ballet and GPAC - Sunday, December 9th at 2:00 p.m.

Holiday Variations will showcase 13 students from the brand new program from
the Sarasota Ballet, The Margaret Barbieri Conservatory of Dance. This intensive
8 year training program is especially designed to teach committed and talented
young students to become professional artists in the area of classical dance. The
program is overseen by Ms. Margaret Barbieri, a former world-renowned prima
ballerina and Assistant Director to Mr. Iain Webb, the Sarasota Ballet Company
Director.

Holiday Variations will feature classical variations from several famous ballets such as Le
Corsair, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Napoli and Paquita. Many beautiful costumes will be
provided by Sarasota Ballet Company. The dancers will also perform these variations at the
Youth America Grand Prix (in January), one of the world’s largest student ballet competitions,
which launched the career of many ballet stars of today. Holiday Variations is a wonderful
opportunity to support and see the stars of tomorrow.

GPAC box office at 552-5325. Groups of 10 or more receive a reduced rate of $12.50. GPAC F
amily and students get a discounted rate of $10.00.
