Mind & Mend - a merging of Visual & Performance Art

Art Center Sarasota and Moving Ethos Dance Company present Mind & Mend - a merging of visual and performance art - Friday October 1st and Saturday October 2nd. This two evening event encourages the viewer to see past the outer layer and look inside at the intention behind the work, whether the medium is a canvas or a body. The choreography addresses the relationships we have with ourselves and each other, both conscious and unconscious, reflecting the art work surrounding the performance space. Visual art begins to move as the dancers adapt their medium into another world, taking dance out of the theater and into the community. Turning brush strokes into body strokes, bringing sculptures to life, and capturing the eyes of onlookers, Moving Ethos will break down the walls between theater and gallery and introduce a new way to experience movement and art. Spend an evening with local artists experiencing art through new perspective. Doors open at 7pm, performance begins at 7:30. Tickets are $8 for members, $10 non members. Seating is limited.
