Are you stuck in a bad patch? Do bad things seem to be continually disrupting your life? You may be going through a tough time, but you have to embrace the right perspective to survive the disappointments.

Sometimes people go through long periods of disappointments. Here is one example. You are unemployed for several months, having difficulty with your marriage, worrying about your spouse’s medical problems, struggling with parenting, and worried about the bills while you look for a job. It feels like a lot to have on your shoulders all at once. You could handle all of these things by themselves but they seem impossible combined together.

Here are some tips for dealing with the times when the problems seem to build up all at once and you are having a hard time finding a way out.

1. Take one day at a time. This advice is really true. You can’t borrow all the problems of upcoming days, weeks, and months. Try to focus on what you can reasonably accomplish each day and be happy with that.

2.
Nowhere to go but up. This expression is also true. Now that things are really bad, there is no other option but for things to get better. You need to focus on your family and your other responsibilities. Even with no job, with marital problems, or a sick relative, you still have things to anchor you.

3.
Focus on your blessings. You can probably think of many ways that you are blessed. Focus on the great things in your life such as your family and your friends and know that eventually the other aspects of your life are going to improve too. Try to enjoy what happiness you can find in each day.

4.
Sharpen your mind and body while planning for better times. When dealing with major problems, you can also be channeling all your negative feelings toward something productive. Find a constructive outlet like a new hobby, an educational class, or an exercise program to keep you busy.

5.
Get help from wherever you can. Holding in your problems is unhealthy. Use family, friends, or professional counseling to get through these tough patches. You have to work on maintaining your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Don’t lose yourself to stress.

Managing a series of disappointments can be tough, but you have the inner strength to survive anything that life throws at you. Be strong and take one day at a time. Soon you will be happier because things will get better with time.

I also advise people who seem depressed to do something, preferablyt something they know they have always been good at. Just thinking about it helps them!

Sometimes when the going gets really tough, it can be 1 minute at a time. These days I look no further than the nose on my face.I have so many problems, I could not contemplate tackling them all head on.
I can however cope remarkably well, by simply tackling one at a time, and when it gets really bad I head for the gym and a major work out. This accomplishes several things, makes me fitter, gets rid of pent up emotions and releases those wonderful endorphins !!
