Helloooooooo Miss Attitude :) Today I finally found some time to go thru the many, many pages of entries and say thanks to those who voted for my yard.

But after reading your blog, well I think you voted for me accidentally! So, I still say thank you but you may want to slide a vote for #6 one day!

I am new to the area and work for an environmental non-profit so I just had to register for this contest as the prizes are so eco-friendly. Even though all the shell in my yard is not exactly appealing to the eye and I spend way to long weeding (Florida is crazy like that you have to spray a gazillion gallons of poison to keep an area free of plant life) I was doubly pleased that the makeover did not include sod. As an experienced veggie gardener I was also super excited about the 400% water savings in the Hydro-stacker! and so much more, thats why I love this contest so much! eco-friendly and hopefully the exposure of the local companies will encourage everyone to think beyond the status quo when landscaping. Not to sound like a grass hater but it makes me crazy all the water we waste growing and watering lawns…well, back to the point.

Thanks for voting for me and if you want to help out a fellow single-gal, who works hard to save the oceans as well as the fisherman who bring us yummy fish sandwiches, type in another vote or two for #5, this time on purpose :) I think my yard scares off suitors, they are afraid I'll expect them to fix it up!

Leper Beauty is a painting I created while I was involved in a hands-on healing program at the Leper Community in Lalang Linggah in Bali, Indonesia. Miraculously, within 90 days of my finishing the artwork, the 23-year old subject, a girl who had had leprosy all her life, experienced a complete reversal of the disease.
