The truth is that if you are hungry before you go to bed, you need to eat something. You are about to go 6 to 8 hours without food which may cause you to become hypoglycemic while you sleep. The best choices right before bed are low glycemic fruits that are quick to metabolize, such as pineapple, grapefruit, berries, melon, cherries, an apple or some cantaloupe. You can also have a salad with some protein if you feel like you need more sustenance. If you eat clean burning foods without fatty dressings, rich sauces and super sugary condiments, you SHOULD eat after 6 p.m. especially if you go to bed late. The most important thing is portion control and quality control!
