Women are marvelous creatures. We are strong, hardworking and dedicated to our personal growth and professional success. Listed below are some interesting and thought provoking facts about women in the work place.

Did you know:

1. There is a significant wage gap?

2. Sixty-nine percent of Americans belive that women and minorities are paid less for doing the same work as their white male counterparts?

3. Sixty-five percent believe there should be legislation in place to protect employees who discuss salary information?

4. The number of women business owners is growing quickly?

5. The majority of women business owners are under age 50?

5. Home-based businesses owned by women provide full- or part-time employment for over 14 million people?

6. Women-owned businesses generate over $1.5 trillion in sales and employ more than 9.2 million people?

Working women contribute significantly to our economy. Unfortunately, we don’t always get the credit we deserve for our contributions. And, we still need to fight for equal pay and equal rights. Don’t give up the fight, it’s worth our hard work and efforts.

One more fact: Did you know that the wage gap is not expected to be eliminated until 2039? That’s unacceptable – so let’s bond together and fight for equal pay.
