If I eat the wrong foods, can I just go to the gym and work off the calories?

No! Many people think that they can eat whatever they want and just work it off in the gym. This could not be further from the truth. Diet and cardio are responsible for 85% of the way that we look. If you do not eat the correct foods, you will probably not look the way you would like. Many people think that they can eat whatever they want and just work it off in the gym. You can be physically fit, exercise religiously, and still not look the way that you would like.

Yes but many people depend totally on going to the gym to get rid of the unhealthy food they eat.

Even though 80% of a beautiful, healthy body is built with good nutrition you MUST pay attention to the other 20% of the formula. Your genes obviously play a role in physical appearance. To some extent you must live with certain physical attributes thanks to Mom and Dad. At the same time, you can make improvements to your genetic package through weight training and cardiovascular exercise. You have to have both components to be successful in achieving YOUR "perfect" body shape. Eating Clean and exercising in a motivating and encouraging environment will help you achieve your fitness goals.
