Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org), America's largest independent evaluator of charities, has ranked the Humane Society of Sarasota County (www.hssc.org) as the highest-rated animal welfare agency in Florida and among the highest in the nation. Charity Navigator found HSSC's score to exceed the national average, ranking 11th out of 247 animal rights, welfare and service organizations. Charity Navigator has determined that more than 84 percent of HSSC's budgeted funds go directly to programs and services.
