I had a very disturbing night last week. I offered my driving services to Under Dog Rescue. They needed someone to go to Tampa to meet a transport that had just picked up 8 dogs that were rescued from a Back Yard Breeder in Lake City Florida.
When I got to the house and around the back where these precious babies were patiently waiting, I couldn't believe my eyes. They were the most pathetic, broken little souls. I could hardly hold back the tears. They were a hot mess to say the least; malnourished, eye issues, skin issues which include very painful open sores, a couple that walked with a limp, and many more disturbing afflictions.
I got them in my car and and blazed down to Glenda's house. When we arrived I gave them all, which assuredly was their very first bath. The look in their eyes told me how grateful they were to be rescued from the living hell they had to endure for so many years.
This very special group of moms and dads will get the happy ending. My heart and soul cries for the ones still living the nightmare. Living in cages their whole life, never given love, never knowing the feeling of grass under their paws. These poor parents are the forgotton, used simply to pump out as many puppies as possible. When they are no longer of use many times they are killed, or treated so poorly that eventually it will cause their early demise.
I have included pictures of
"THE LUCKY 8" they will all be available for adoption in a couple of weeks, some will take longer to heal. But if anyone reading this want's to help make one of these babies dreams come true, and actually contribute to the happy ending, please e-mail me and I can arrange for you to meet them

"Puppy Mills/Back Yard Breeders, sometimes known as puppy farms, are large and small-scale dog breeding facilities that operate under substandard breeding conditions, causing the development of chronic health problems, temperament issues, and hereditary defects in puppies that come from the mills. The high numbers of euthanized animals (4 million dogs per year in U.S.) has led animal rights advocates to oppose the mass breeding of pet animals, a view that the profitable breeding industry opposes."
When you walk pass petshops or farms showcasing those cutesy cutesy little puppies, have you ever wondered where they came from? They looked cute alright, but what about their parents? Are they in good shape as well? Did you know that most puppies won't display their defects, if any at all, until they're much older? Which is why petshops / petfarms they sell puppies at very young age, and as these puppies grew well into 5 or 6 months old, their pricetag is slashed by almost HALF.
Many purchase on impulse, while some others are just looking for an easy way out after being "sick and tired of going through rounds of so-called screenings and interviews just to adopt one dog". I do believe there are some that don't even know that dog shelters do exists.
I wan't to emplore you to adopt, not shop.
Petfinder.com is a tremendous resource to find the pet of your dreams. Whatever breed you're looking for, trust me you will find them on this site.
P.S.
Please forgive my girls in some of the shots...these puppies are hard to reign in..no pun intended...
Peace & Pet Love!
