ICONS OF ENTERTAIMENT
Sarasota, Florida, September 20, 2009 – The Fred Astaire Dance Studio is proud to present the “Icons of Entertainment,” on stage at the
Sarasota Opera House, 61 N. Pineapple Street, Sarasota FL on
Sunday October 11th, 2009 at 7:30 PM with all ticket proceeds benefiting Living with Angels and the Positive Life Institute of Sarasota.
The choreographer Warren Brown has developed routines reminiscent of the greats, combining celluloid stars and characters from Madonna to the Latin Icon, Celia Cruz and other legends of the Silver Screen and Icons of Music. It all comes alive again in the Fred Astaire dance review on stage at the Sarasota Opera House Theater, Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 PM.
“It’s exciting to be working with a choreographer of Warren’s stature,” says Ginger Chasolen, a Fred Astaire student who has won many competitive ballroom events. Chasolen’s participation in “Icons of Entertainment” includes a solo with her instructor, Justin Moore. “Warren has fresh new ideas, interweaving our ballroom dance technique with Hollywood music and flair. He works primarily with instructors and champion dancers from around the world. We’re so lucky to have him here in Sarasota.”
“We showcase our students and professionals in a theatrical production twice a year,” says Enrique Curi, who has owned and developed the Bee Ridge Studio since its inception in 2002. We are celebrating our 32 years as a premier dance studio in Sarasota by presenting the “Icons of Entertainment.” The showcase features music associated with many famous screen sirens, matinee idols, and the bad boys and girls of the movies. It’s a high-spirited dance experience—the best of theatrical dancing—in a benefit performance for the charity, Living with Angels and the Positive Life Institute.”
Studio Manager Curi emphasizes that the showcase review is for good fun as well as a good cause. “We learned more about the needs of Sarasota’s Living with Angels and the Positive Life Institute of Sarasota, who help people in need, and we want to help them by donating all proceeds from our ticket sales to this charity.”
The curtain comes up on “Icons of Entertainment” on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the Sarasota Opera House Theater, 61 North Pineapple Avenue- Sarasota.
General admission seating is $20.00. A limited number of VIP tickets are selling for $30.00, which include a dance party with refreshments to be held at the Opera House following the performance.
