The Fred Astaire Dance Studio is proud to present the “Icons of Entertainment,” on stage at the Sarasota Opera House, 61 N. Pineapple Street, Sarasota FL on Sunday October 11th, 2009 at 7:30 PM with all ticket proceeds benefiting Living with Angels and the Positive Life Institute of Sarasota.
“We showcase our students and professionals in a theatrical production twice a year,” says Enrique Curi, manager of the Sarasota Fred Astaire Dance Studio. “We are celebrating our 32 years as a premier dance studio in Sarasota by presenting the ‘Icons of Entertainment.’ The showcase features music associated with many famous screen sirens, matinee idols, and the bad boys and girls of the movies. It’s a high-spirited dance experience in a benefit performance for the charity, Living with Angels and the Positive Life Institute.”
The dance showcase features professional dance champions from other Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Florida including: Warren and Babette Brown, Scottish Professional Dance Champions; Jesse Benedetti and Kimalee Piedad, United States Theatre Arts Dance Champions; and Ronald Guillen and Katie Jenkins, United States Rhythm Dance Finalists.
The curtain comes up on “Icons of Entertainment” on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the Sarasota Opera House Theater, 61 North Pineapple Avenue- Sarasota.
General admission seating for the Dance Showcase to be held on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the Sarasota Opera House is $20.00. A limited number of VIP tickets selling for $30.00, including a party, refreshments and general dancing following the Showcase performance.
A pre-event Kick-Off Party, with tickets at $20.00, will be held at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 7:30 PM.

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio is located at 2738 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida. Studio hours are Monday – Friday from 12:00 – 9:00 PM. The studio offers the best of Ballroom & Latin Rhythm Dance instruction including private lessons, group lessons, social dance parties and other events.
