As humans, we all have a basic need for growth. The only way we can grow is making positive changes in our lives, and using that momentum to become who we want to be. Many of us get wrapped up in the day to day of living, and lose track of all the areas we truly want to improve upon. The following is an easy method that can help you make big, measurable changes, and keep track of your progress.
We all have categories in our lives that we focus on. You will have your own categories, so you may expand on this as you see fit. But in it's most basic form, we all strive in the following areas.
Health - This is number one because ultimately an unhealthy life is not worth enjoying, even if we have all the money and material things we desire. Make a clear and precise picture of exactly how you want to look and feel and write it down. It is important in these areas to be as detailed as possible so you can attract those true results.
Relationships - Whether you are currently married or in a relationship, it may not be the way you truly want it. Let's face it! Even if you have a fabulous relationship now, you can always take it to a whole other level. One of the most influential speakers says that relationships magnify human emotions. Most of us want to share with another, and that is what makes life even more exciting.
Spiritual - This is a tough one because there are so many paths to choose from, but honestly it all comes down to the basics of how to treat people, and having love and trust in your creator. Maybe you are an atheist. If that's the case, this category may not be very important to you. You may have something else you want to focus on, like connection with nature.
Financial - Okay this is a big one, right? We all have financial goals and want to achieve them. Maybe you want your own business, or have a goal to make $250,000 a year for whatever reason. It is important to know exactly what you want, so you have a clear picture of the progress you are making towards your goals.
Those are the big four so to speak. You may have other categories such as parenting, friendships, hobbies, etc. For the most part, however, these are the biggest areas people spend their time and focus on.
Now, to make progress on improving these areas, I'm sure you are aware there are things you need to do daily in order to reach them. The question is, do you have a tool you use to both track and measure your progress? Again, we all get caught up in living our lives in reaction, and it would be easier if we laid it all out in black and white, so we are sure we hit these areas daily.
The easiest way to track your progress is simply use a spreadsheet like Microsoft Excel. Plot the days of the week across the top, and list your categories down the left side. Now simply brainstorm all the things you need to do on a daily basis under your categories, so you don't forget them. Check them off every day!
For example, under health you may be focused on proper diet. List all the foods you want to consume daily. Or maybe you are focused on exercise. What are the exercises or strength building activities you need to do daily to achieve your results?
As you go though and check off your successfully completed activities or to-dos every day, you will eventually end up with a representation of your accomplishments.
Also, since we are visual creatures, it may help to have pictures of exactly what you want to manifest in a scrapbook or another similar collage. This provides you with the juice and motivation to really go after your dreams. For example, if you know exactly how you want your physical body to look, google some images of people in shape and save the ones that provide you that juice. Or maybe you want to buy your dream home. Collect pictures of houses that will fulfill that desire. Look at them every day when you are working off your checklist.
You will be surprised in a short time the progress and vast changes you can make in your life if you keep track of your to-dos. The challenge is, do you really have the desire to make your life even more outstanding? Consider this your Dynamic Daily must-do activities, and go for it!
