Harmony Health Acupuncture and Herbs:
http://www.harmonyhealthsrq.comTwo weeks ago, I mentioned a website -
http://www.nutritiondata.com - that offered useful dietary information at the click of a mouse.
This week, I'd like to share with you another site that recently came my way. It's called "What Is The Mediterranean Diet?". You can find it at
http://www.oldwayspt.org/mediterranean-diet-pyramid.
It's worthwhile taking 5-10 minutes to peruse the site. Just like the name says, the originators tout the balance, freshness and taste of the Mediterranean plate. But you also can see what inspired this group of food advocates, called "Oldways": a passion for the ancient wisdom of natural, healthy foods, as well as a rejection of our modern processed food culture. In time, Oldways went further, helping design Asian and Latino culture-based food pyramids.
According to Oldways, food cultures around the world share healthy foundations that get lost in the barrage of food processing and market we're barraged with everyday. If you're curious, check out the recipes section. It's your ticket to the world nutrition tour!
