Want to Stay Healthy and Young? Take Responsibility for Your Health!

We all want to feel healthy and look younger as we get older, it is a natural desire. What we need to establish is a daily regimen consisting of eating whole foods -- preferably organic, exercising, sleeping 8 hours or more per night and drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Simple to write, but sometimes it can be difficult to do. We need to make a promise to ourselves that we are worth it and this regimen can become a habit like any other.

Without a doubt, we should avoid is consuming large amounts of alcohol and soda, quit smoking and avoid taking drugs unnecessarily, such as OTC's and pharmaceuticals. Instead, we can take natural supplements that the body (or brain) can understand and assimilate easily, such as herbs, enzymes, homeopathic medicines and probiotics.

By doing these things, we can naturally lower blood pressure, reduce high cholesterol and lose weight. We don't need a drug that simply treats the symptoms but not the illness itself. Drugs have the ability to age us prematurely. Also, many drugs can make us sicker in the long run as we attempt to stay healthy in the short-term.

We could also learn new body-mind connection techniques such as tai chi, yoga, qi gong or meditation. There are many groups of people who engage in these practices together. These practices help ground us and help heal our minds so that we can heal our bodies.

When we engage in natural, healthy daily habits, we can ward off many diseases. Also by going the natural route in healing, we can address the root cause of our health problems and successfully treat and prevent reoccurrences. Preventative medicine is always the best remedy and the easiest to treat, of course.
