Harmony Health Acupuncture and Herbs
Chances are you've never had a
Tui Na massage. More likely than not, you've
probably never heard of Tui Na (Tway-Nah).
If that's the case, you should read on. Because this ancient form of therapeutic massage is a little-practiced linchpin of Chinese Medicine.
Operating on the same energy-moving principles of acupuncture, Tui Na essentially replaces needles with touch. That doesn't mean one automatically replaces the other. But under certain circumstances, they can by addressing various health issues in their own special way.
For example, Tui Na is excellent at treating muscle and joint issues, especially when overuse or lack of use has led to pain and stiffness.
For sore, aching shoulders, necks and backs there's nothing better! The unique techniques of Tui Na break through days, weeks and even years of accumulated tension.
Tui Na also encompasses
acupressure, and so is able to treat internal issues as well, such as constipation and headache. Instead of using needles on the very young and elderly, you can apply the healing touches of Tui Na.
I perform Tui Na on many of my patients, just to loosen them up. More and more I massage their muscles and joints as a prelude to acupuncture.
But it's great for basic relaxation, too.
An hour-long treatment costs $40 - a half-hour goes for $25. I guarantee you wouldn't be disappointed by giving it a try.
