What is Thermography?

"Early detection with thermal imaging means starting at a younger age and discovering those changes that could indicate early stage disease development. DITI is safe from the risks of ionizing radiation and does not compress the breast, which may cause cell damage; both are known causes of breast cancer".

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) offers women and men (more info on men's breast health) the opportunity of earlier detection of developing breast disease than has been possible through breast self-examination, medical examination or mammography alone.

DITI detects subtle changes in the physiology of the breast that can indicate developing pathology, including cancer, fibrocystic changes, infection or vascular disease. With continued, yearly monitoring after a stable baseline is established, DITI can alert you and your doctor to changes that can indicate early stage breast disease.

Screening with DITI is recommended for all women (and men). It is especially valuable for women under the age of 50, whose denser breast tissue makes detection with mammography less effective. Women are encouraged to begin thermal imaging screening by the age of 20. DITI is also valuable for women with breast implants; those women who've had breast cancer; and those who avoid screening because of the discomfort or mistrust of mammograms.

I've seen this discussed for several years....shame on the insurance companies for not including this in their well woman programs! I would love to try this marvelous health imaging out to see what is brewing inside and so I can correct it!
