At 10:13am on December 16, 2009, Kathryn Ewing (Kat) said…: Hi Beverly, I have said a prayer and will continue to do so every day. I can't even imagine what you are going through. My heart goes out to you both. I haven't been totally truthful. I have RA and have had some very ruff weeks. I'm in a drug study, so I get infusions once a month and also take methotrexate (which is a very, very, very low dose of chemo). LOL... I had very little hair to begin with, and now even less. There have been many days when I can't function at all. The reason I mentioned that is because I would go through 10 times the pain and suffering instead of my daughter being ill. (I'm sure you would also). I can't think of much worse than watching our children go through that distress. Please drop a note every now and then to let me know how she is doing.
I don't know if you received my email about seeing your work at the art center. I was walking through and your painting captured my attention and pulled me right over to it. I am so impressed... Great work! Talk to you soon.

At 4:39pm on December 9, 2009, Beverly Fleming said…: Hi Kat, I thought I'd check in and say hello, and tell you the lastest news. I'm no longer at the Deja Brew Cafe and Gallery, at Towles Court. My daughter is no longer working in the cafe. She had surgery for breast cancer in October and is now having chemo. I've been going to the Doctor and the treatments with her. This has really hit us hard. Please say a prayer for her. Thanks. Hope you are well and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Thank you for your comment. I was hoping you would win, and should have voted more. The contest was fun. The painting in the contest and the experimental art on my website, I used liquid Watercolor, acrylic and Tech ink. Full strength and exciting to work with. Please come by the Cafe, I'm usually there in the afternoons between 1-4:00 or 5:00, Tuesday - Friday. Summers are really slow and I'd love the visit and meet you. We can have coffee or tea and talk about our art.
My daughter Rilla is the manager of the cafe so she's there everyday. She is also an artist and has some of her art there too. I really look forward to meeting you.
