Guilty by association
Are your friends uppers or downers? Do they motivate you to exercise and eat right or would they rather park it and tear open a bag of bonbons? You may not know it, but your friends may be limiting your activity level. If you associate yourself with inactive people, you are more likely going to be inactive. Not to say that your friends are bad people just because they don't exercise or are a little lazy, but be aware of the downers.
I am not saying you need to stop seeing your lazy friends, however you may need to find some new ones. Especially if you are trying to start living a healthy and active lifestyle. Downers need company too, so they will try to deter you from eating healthy or going for a walk. Find some active friends. Join a running/walking club or group. Join a boot camp or group training class. These are great because they meet ongoing and everyone there is motivated and anxious to exercise.
Don't give in! Stay strong and live your healthy life.
