"The best preparation for a better life next year is a full, complete harmonious, joyous life this year"
- Thomas Drier

When I read this quote it really spoke to me in so many ways. It made me feel like grasping the moment, living life to the fullest now and enjoying everything no matter what life presents.

This is so easy to say when one has a quiet, peaceful moment to reflect about such things, but what if you have 6 screaming kids in the pool, one of them has to pee immediately, the other one is screaming that a spider is crawling up her leg and another nearly drowned her sister? Oh yeah..... what then?

This is the story of my life, in my mind and heart I am Buddha himself and love my neighbor and am as selfless as Mother Theresa. But honestly what about reality and the moments when you really feel like yelling at your neighbor for not pulling their weeds or have had enough of the cars parked in front of your house? What then? Did Buddha or Mother Theresa have to deal with ugly pick up trucks in front of their house? I don't think so.

Well, this as always is a dilemma for me and makes me contemplate a lot.

A wise friend of mine said " What you give, you get, Michelle". At first I didn't quite get it, but the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.

For instance, if you want more hugs in your life, then give more hugs first. If you want prosperity in your life, give to those in need first. If you want to learn something, teach something first.
Aaaahhhh....now I was getting it.

So, if I wanted inner peace in my life at all times, then that is what I must give at all times. So simple and yet so hard.

I take it one moment at a time because I am not Buddha or Mother Theresa. I am a normal women with 2 kids, a husband ,3 fish, 2 cats and a full time life coach for mothers. Life is full and I do my best, that's all I can ask of myself. And if I don't do my best then I forgive myself and start all over again because every moment is a new beginning. This is what I tell my clients as well. That they are incredible beings who are giving their best and we all just want to be loved.

The only secret is that if you want to be loved, then love first!

Remember, you get what you give.

Thanks Michelle, I enjoyed this- and needed the reminder.
