20 Minutes to Fitness Continues to Grow
Company Adds New Personal Fitness Coach
(Lakewood Ranch, FL) 20 Minutes to Fitness, the semi-private strength training studio that offers a scientifically-proven, medically-based, slow-cadence training method, having experienced steady growth since opening in Lakewood Ranch in 2005, has added a new member to its team of Personal Fitness Coaches. Due to the highly personalized training approach, the Personal Fitness Coach is an integral part of the program’s success, and Cathy English, RN, is the newest member of the team.
“We have enjoyed an enthusiastic response from the people in this area who try us out first and then become loyal participants,” explains co-owner and President, Virginia Phillips. “It’s rewarding that our clients are so pleased with their results that they refer their family and friends.”
Because of this excellent response, 20 Minutes to Fitness expanded their Lake Osprey Plaza studio about two years ago and is now planning a new location near downtown Sarasota.
A registered nurse, since 1981, English has been in Sarasota since 1991. She was on staff at Sarasota Memorial from 1993-2007. English is also an ACE certified Personal Trainer.
“Because 20 Minutes to Fitness is a medically-based form of strength training, Cathy’s 28 years as an experienced Registered Nurse adds a unique expertise to the 20 Minutes to Fitness Team,” states Phillips. “In fact, our system of training receives excellent commendation from the medical community. We have several physicians who are Clients and who consistently refer their patients to us.”
“We value the medical community’s involvement,” states Phillips. “We are seeing growing interest from health care providers who recognize the solid, scientific research that endorses the slow-cadence system. It really is becoming the ‘Doctors Workout.’”
In addition to the local expansion, 20 Minutes to Fitness is offering franchises nationally. “This is an excellent time for the right franchisees to get involved,” states Al Roach, co-owner of 20 Minutes to Fitness and President of the franchise operation.
20 Minutes to Fitness uses a scientifically based fitness approach known as "slow-cadence" (or slow motion) training. Working on specialized physical therapy equipment, participants lift weights in a series of ultra slow movements, causing the muscles to work harder and producing far better, faster results (50 to 59% better) than traditional strength training. This medically-based system is proven to actually slow down and prevent the physical and health-related issues commonly associated with the aging process. Each client works with a certified Personal Fitness Coach who stays at their side, calibrating the equipment for them and leading them safely through each exercise. 20 Minutes to Fitness: Changing The Way You Look At Exercise…Forever.
