The golden rule in a nutshell is to treat others how you want to be treated. Think about now many networking groups you are in. Are you in one that is "exclusive" and where you made a promise (contract) to be loyal to group members? If you have any scruples at all you might be a little uncomfortable with such a promise. You might have an excellent, reliable person you want to work with outside the group and that you've already promised your loyalty to... the bottom line is IF you aren't true to others you aren't being true to yourself.
So what is the advantage of being honest and loyal?
If just one or two people that you are loyal to are "connectors" they will refer you very often to their clients, prospects and friends. They will refer people to you so often it will amaze you. It is very very important that you only recommend people you trust implicitly. Choose your alliances carefully as they reflect heavily on what kind of person you are. :)
