Are you or someone you know experiencing male or female thinning or baldness? I will share my helpful tips for you.

Having our hair I was told, makes up a good part of our identity. I like to make my clients look their absolute best with the hair they have. I would like to list you most of my tips that I have shared with most of my clients over the years that truly, truly work. Good luck to you and I hope you can find this very useful for yourself or someone you know.

1. If your hair is getting thinner, then usual it can be caused by stress. I would reccomend a higher protein diet with lots of chicken and fish. Hair is made of protein. Vitamins also loaded with all the B's are great for the hair.

2.If your hair is evenly thinning all over, you need to know a great shampoo/conditioner treatment. Nioxin has one of the best systems to create healthier, stronger hair, with the ability to stop the hair loss. It works! It works very well for people who lose hair due to medication or thyroid problems. It's available in some salons, or I can analyze your hair and set you up with the proper product for you may have several choices.

3. I have alot of my clients also taking Biotin, 1,500 mcg a day. You can combine it with the Nioxin system. Biotin is a wonderful B vitamin! Alot of your shampoos or styling products contain small amounts of Biotin which is great for the hair. I recommend a little more by taking a supplement. You can find it at GNC or Whole Foods Stores, just to name a few.

4. Try using shampoo for fine to thin hair. It's more gentle on the scalp and hair. When you towel dry your hair, make sure you "blot" it instead of rubbing. The strong cotton, when rubbing, can break the hair off.

5. When you hit the pool or the beach, or even on the days when taking long walks, use sunscreen for the scalp that is hypo-allergenic and water soluble. It will help avoid a terrible burn. Apply on finger tips and directly put on scalp without touching the whole hair. This will protect your scalp and not clog the pores making your existing hair safe from clogged follicles.

That should help with some of your questions about thinning hair and please stay tuned to my next post on helpful hair tips by Erin at Inspirations Salon.
