Headlines that shouldn't surprise you if you have been paying attention to the Marketing Tips of the Week
Surprise Surprise: McDonald's is keeping Ronald McDonaldWhy do you think? He is still a strong part of their brand, AND he is working to get the attention of kids which leads to long term customers...
This is a smart move, A) Toyota has the greenest car in the country, the Prius and
B) It takes attention away from the mostly negative hype about brake issues which was a media nightmare but not a major defect with the cars. Now we have to hope that electric cars (which I like) are not using dirty coal power to recharge (don't like). If that is the case a hybrid produces less emissions when you take into account the power company's pollution.
This is a little bit older news but worth mentioning in light of Nike's recent BIG NEWS, an incredibly expensive commercial. Basically historically Addidas and Puma were big soccer brands, then Fila and so on. More recently Nike has been appearing on team shirts, shorts & shoes. Well Nike knows that this year's World Cup is a HUGE opportunity as this video is sure to go viral. It is really well done which will have the desired effect: Move Nike to the top of people's minds when it comes to Soccer... Watch it here...
Have an awesome week,
