Hi everybody. I had not painted anything in a long time, but needed a really special Mother's Day present and so came Karen's Poppies. It is a combination of Japaese Sumie style painting and pen & ink with watercolor wash.

This pictures was taken on a recent trip to Russia, in a small town called Uglich along the river that runs from Moscow to St. Petersburg. My roommate and I were looking to buy flowers for our stateroom when we happen to come upon these three ladies. I asked if I could take the picture first, and without any posing (they were standing like this when we came upon them), I snapped the picture and seemed to capture a world of stories. Enjoy.

I would like to submit the "World Wide Web" right here in my back yard in Sarasota on a dewey morning for my Photography entry.
Photographer, Lynne Warberg, has lived and worked in many areas. Her main studies have been in Los Angeles, New York, Arizona, Florida, Haiti, Dominican Republic,Peru, Japan and Europe. Lynne studied with the renowned scenic photographer Ansel Adams.
New York Foundation for the Arts awarded Warberg for her documentary photography work in Haiti, entitled Possession. She has received several Polaroid Corporation grants. Her work is collected by numerous institutions and private collectors.

This photo was taken in St. Marc. Haiti. It was made with Kodak Ectachrome 100 film with a Nikon F3 and printed by Master printer, Michael Wilder, using Cibachrome material.

The film director, Wes Craven, and Robert Redford acquired the photo for their private collections.

This photograph is available for purchase along with other images from the Haiti series.
More of my work can be seen on www.apertureimages.org.,

I am definetely not a photographer but I love these pictures of our victoria lily & wanted to share it with everyone. It's a beautiful night blooming lily that is native to the Amazon. The underside of the leaves are covered in thorns & the leaves when full grown can get 5' across & can hold up to 200lbs without breaking! It blooms for three nights starting out white & ending with a deep pink. (pics 1 & 2 are of the same bloom on different nights) Just for fun pic # 3 one of our customers sent us of their dog on the lily.
