1) Anita Wexler
This image is my latest; it is 60"x48" mixed media painting.
Dos como uno - two as one. It is about finding the one that truly makes you happy inside and out. .

2) Louise Hamel
The Madonna and The Lottery
36"x72"

3) Colleen White
The White Stag, embodiment of Herne, the Celtic god, stands in a primeval forest. This one came from my Celtic roots, it was like I was painting a memory. I'm a silversmith for a living, but enjoy painting in goauche on watercolor paper.

4) S.Rush Dean
"Sarasota Bay from Bradenton Beach Pier" Acrylic 48X36

5)James Griffin

This oil on canvas is titled THE RED GATE. It was painted in 2008 and is based on a scene in my North Sarasota neighborhood. I loved the dynamic contrast between the red gate, in sun and shadow and the dramatic leaves of the Travelers Palm. This painting, like many of mine is an abstract study in color and shapes disguised as a realistic painting. The original can be seen at the Dabbert Gallery , 76 Palm Ave. James Griffin

6) Chellie Gardiner

I hadn't painted in a long time, but I needed a really special Mother's Day gift and so came "Karen's Poppies". It is a combination of Japanese Sumie style painting and pen & ink with a watercolor wash. I wanted it to co-exist happily with my Mom's style decor which we describe as vaguely Asian. Thanks for your consideration.

7) Brigitta w. Sultana
This is one of a series of collages that I have done with silver leaf, paper and paint on board. The actual piece measures 8"x10" I am inspired by the texture and depth that it holds.

8) Janet Mishner
This mixed media on canvas is titled 'Myakka.' You may find yourself in a humid, hazy atmosphere that eventually leads to a place of mystery, intense light, and joy
Canvas size is 12" x 36".

9)Joan Aaronson

Here are some leaf designs

Hey all, there is a lot of talent out there!!! But please vote for number one!!! Thank you for your votes in advance.
I am the new Art teacher at Brookside Middle (I was working at Sarasota High). I live to paint, sculpt and play with my kiddies during the Summer. I am only up now to get some more painting time in before kiddies wake up!!! Teaching is so rewarding, but my Art career needs your support!! The students really get excited when I have an Art exhibit - how cool to have a promotion in WQ to show them? Hot!! Anita

Colleen White gets my vote today. I wear Herne on my left arm in a tattoo I designed.
All are great, but I am voting for Chellie' mothers day poppies.
I, too, cast a vote for #4 by S. Rush Dean!
