BLEPHARITIS-What is it and how to treat it

Blepharitis is an overgrowth of dead skin cells and bacteria that is normally found on the skin, and has blocked the eyelash follicle. Blepharitis is a common eye condition, causing the eyelids to be reddened, itchy and somewhat swollen. Overtime, scales become coarser, and crusts form on the lid. The natural lashes become thinner and sparse causing gaps between the natural lashes. Crusts may fall into the eye which feels like a gritty sensation.
