As a life coach for mothers, I meet the most wonderful women at my workshops, at networking functions and when I am a guest speaker for various groups. Mothers are such incredible people and I love hearing about their "life stories".

"School is starting next week! Whoohooooo!"



That is what I am hearing from every mother that I meet at the moment. You can feel the euphoria spreading down the aisles of Publix, where you see mothers skipping with a light step. At Staples, where the parents are buying school supplies with a little giggle under their breathe. And last but not least at Target where the All Star Sneakers are being fought over for that all so holy first day back at school!

Whenever someone asks a Mom how she is, the answer is always, "Fine"! That answer ia always accompanied by a smile as well. Mothers are raised to carry the world on their shoulders and to never complain or ask for help. How many mothers have secretly wept tears of frustration, anger, bitterness or from sheer exhaustion? I know that I have! I also know that feeling of being so alone with the huge responsibility of being a mother.

How I loved that scene out of the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy was in Munchkinland and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, was telling her to follow the yellow brick road, so the Wizard could help her return home.
